New School Opening In Spring Valley

          A new school is opening in Spring Valley this up coming week. They built this new school over the summer and it is set to open once school starts. Spring Valley elementary school should be a fresh start for these young children who's old school had brunt down earlier this year. 

         We spoke to a local student about how he feels about the brand new school! 

          "I'm excited to go to school now. It's gonna be brand new and I can't wait to see what new toys and books we will have!" said seven year old Harley Brown.

           We had a also spoke to one of the teachers, Ms. Hatfield, who will be working at Spring Valley Elementary and asked her how she feels about the new school compared to the old one. 

          "Personally I liked the old school better because I've been teaching at the school my whole career so its hard to let go. Yet I am so excited to see what this new school has in store for us and all the new students coming in this year. I think this school will have great potential for all of us!"

         The people seem very excited about this new school, and the whole community seems to love it. It should be a great thing for Spring Valley!

Reflection 1# - First newspaper

        There are lots of differences between how they used to write newspapers and what they wrote about compared to today. Also they're are lots of different ways that news articles and such can be shared around, for example online through Facebook and social media. Along with being able to watch the news on television! I also find that they are composed a lot differently, they're are pictures in the newspaper. One thing that I noticed right away was the way that they had spelled public, they spelled it with a "k", "publick". I thought that was a very noticeable difference  was the topics that they would be writing about. Most of our news today is about Trump or things involving the states, while I'm sure the newspaper back then didn't discuses the same things.         Personally I don't think that the government should have that power, because we do have freedom of speech, so why should the government control what is put in the newspapers

What Is News Worthy?

Article #1:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              The first article I chose to write about is "Doctor-assisted suicide is now responsible for one percent of all deaths in Canada" . This is a very controversial issue, a lot of people agree with doctors being able to put patients out of their misery. On the other hand quite a few people do not think that it should be aloud and they think it is murder. It is all really just based on peoples opinions. Euthanasia in Canada had only became legal in June of 2016.
